In 2006 we installed a broad band Fourier transform spectrometer Vertex 80v extending our spectral range up to ultraviolet.

The setup includes a sample cryostat with a cold finger that allows us to study samples at temperatures between 4K and 325K, both in transmission and reflection geometry. The KONTI type spectro A cryostat features a Berger-Lahr stepper motor with a TwinLine TLC411 controller to control the vertical position of the sample and switch between sample and refence positions. Sample temperature is controlled by a TIC304 temperature controller.

We have created LabVIEW software that allows to change between sample and refence positions or the sample temperature either from the user interface, or from within a Bruker Opus macro program. The software is distributed under GNU General Public License as published by the Free Software Foundation; either version 2 of the License, or any later version.
